Bio

As a former child writer, my short stories have been published in France in anthologies for the past decade. My first novel “Ma Petite Soeur” has been published in December 2015 by Dagan Editions.

I have written and directed half a dozen short films, for production companies such as Busy Kiwi and the BFI Future Film shorts.

My articles have been published in The Guardian, Gal-Dem, Okay Africa, Complex Magazine, Media Diversified, Londonist, Amina, and more.

As a playwright, I’m an alumni of Talawa Theatre TYPT 15, the Soho Theatre Writers Group and the Stratford East Young Artist Lab. I wrote and devised the play Soapbox with Talawa TYPT 15 and wrote and co-directed my play, Recipes, performed at a rehearsed reading at the Stratford East. I was selected to be part of The Royal Court’s Introduction to playwriting and worked with the theatre company ALT to write and devise short monologues performed at the Southwark Playhouse.

As a workshop leader I have led creative communication workshop for clients such as Expedia UK, Amnesty International UK, UK Black Pride and more in the UK and Europe. My workshops explores many themes such as Writing as self care, Writing as a form of activism, Writing about hair, etc

As a filmmaker, my short film Rabbits was screened at the Helsinki Illumenation Film Festival in 2015. My newest short film, Pearls, a coming of age movie about teens dealing with sexual assault, was selected at the Diaspora festival of Black and Independent film 2023 and the Chicago Indie film awards 2023. The film will be available on most platforms by the end of the year.
